JUST SOME OF THE GLOBAL LOCATIONS WHERE WE HAVE PROVIDED CONSULTING SERVICES:
Michelle is a Sustainability/ESG, Human Rights, and Psychological Health & Safety specialist and has managed all projects on behalf of Akashic Communications for over 25 years. Her experience providing sustainability strategy, reporting, engagement, and social impact/social performance consulting services to organizations – almost exclusively in the resource sector – combined with credentials as a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and desire to support individual performance to increase overall well-being and achieve personal and professional outcomes, make her uniquely and particularly well-suited to focus on and support Psychological Health & Safety in the workplace.
Michelle has been Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Certified since 2010 and has written or reviewed dozens of sustainability reports for junior, mid-tier and senior mining companies, producing a variety of commodities, with assets/operations in multiple countries. Her early career began in the financial industry as a registered financial advisor. Knowledge of capital markets, governance, and regulatory/continuous disclosure requirements as well as familiarity with investors as key stakeholders provides a unique layer to Michelle’s industry perspective, project input, and analysis.
Michelle is also a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, thus in addition to organizational performance consulting, she also offers individual performance coaching and counselling. Her unique offering – Touchstone – has become increasingly important for both personal well-being and professional performance for employees during the context of COVID-19, as well as being directly related to international guidance for the promotion of worker health and psychological health and safety in the workplace.
Michelle has a BA from Simon Fraser University, a Masters degree in Professional Communications from Royal Roads University, and a diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling. She is also a certified board candidate/Corporate Directors International (CDI.D) graduate.
Akasha is a sanskrit word meaning “sky”, “space”, or “aether” and has been used to describe a non-physical plane where the knowledge of all human existence is encoded – a cosmic “collective consciousness”.
Akashic Communications was originally (and perhaps ambitiously!) inspired by the idea of tapping-into an intangible place that holds infinite possibilities and generations of tacit human learned experience and knowledge.
The trinity nature of the logo in this context has symbolized many different and meaningful aspects relating to sustainability and responsible business conduct over time (including people, planet, profit and environment, social, governance), and remains open to creative, fluid, and subjective interpretation.
